The Toolbox
Let's repair, recycle and rebuilt
About this process
We live in a time when replacement is preferred to repair. Old buildings are demolished to make way for new ones, construction and demolition waste is one of the key contributors to environmental pollution. Often considered obsolete and often condemned due to a lack of knowledge or skills of repair. Repair culture encourages the ideas of fixing and mending, contributes to local crafts economy and builds skills for the future.
The Restoration Toolbox builds on the ideas of repair culture with the aim of people to empower people to repair and restore their buildings, giving them a new lease of life and contributing to the circular economy. The Material Library is a compilation of user-friendly manuals co-created by students and young professionals to assist in the process of repair, restoration and new construction.
