A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.

Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

About this process

The Restoration Toolbox is launching a Logo Design Competition, from 30th September to 30th October 2022. We cordially invite all the students and young professionals to be a part of this and help us in creating the brand identity of the toolkit. 

The Restoration Toolbox is an online open-source platform and a user-friendly DIY Toolkit, which facilitates participatory heritage conservation in India where in technical literature as well as resources are presented, that helps people and empower users, occupiers, and young professionals in the actual practice of restoration on ground and make the right choices while making technical decisions in construction, restoration, and revitalisation projects. 

Jugaadopolis is a people led movement to make sense of the city. The programme is an innovative medium to explore, understand and appreciate heritage of our cities and cultures in all their forms and find creative ways to make it all relevant to the new generation. Jugaadopolis builds on the idea of Sustainism on the idea of connectedness and relationships that people build with each other and their physical spaces.
