Indian cities have been growing, in size, population and economy at a rapid state in the past 30 years. In this flux of modernization, the local architectural heritage and cultural character of these urban dwellings have taken a back seat. Jugaadopolis has set out on a journey to start a bottom-up movement to document the urban heritage at risk on a map that is accessible to the public.
A virtual masterclass and co-creation workshop titled Risk@Hand was conducted on 21st May 2022 with the aim of testing the assessment framework and mapping technology.
Ms Malvika Bajaj Saini, Consultant Special Projects Architectural Heritage Division INTACH and incharge of the Heritage@Risk programme conducted a one-to-one session on mapping buildings at risk with the interns @C3.

As a part of the workshop a dynamic map was developed where the participants contributed buildings at risk in India based on the assessment framework. This established the system to crowdsource data on more heritage buildings at risk in India. The key challenge is to develop the sustainability of the initiative beyond the life of the C3 project.
