The Verdun House
The Verdun House, an expansive Colonial Style Cottage in the heart of Mussoorie, an excellent depiction of an English countryside setting; has a rich history that can be traced back to a will dated 10th April 1889 by Sophia Evelina Orde of Meerut who died 15th March 1906. The Verdun House subsequently passed to Edith Mabel Lunel, who in 1913 gave it to her husband, James Thomas Lunel, who in 1914 sold it to Barrister at Law of 'The Chalet,' HBS Dalliwal, with a house built on it by Captain Leaky. The house is currently owned by the Jain family and is suffering from several structural issues.
The Restoration Clinic is working with students and young people mentored through this platform to help the family restore and refurbish this house to their past glory.
